Lotus Cars – MY12 Price List Available

The price list for the Lotus Cars 2012 range is available here.

Headline figures include
Base Evora prices rise a little for MY12 due to an increased basic trim level including Bi-Xenon headlights and body colour door handles as standard, from £51,550 for the Evora 2+0 up to £62,450 for the Evora S 2+2.

Lotus Serial Precision Shift (SPS) added to the Elise and Elise CR as a £1,500 option.

The supercharged Elise S launches at £36,200.

The V6 powered Exige S is apparently listed incorrectly in this document and will start at £49,900.

Lotus V8 and Esprit Teaser Video

Just managed to dig this out, thought people might be interested…

In it you can hear the new in-house Lotus V8 engine spinning up for the first time along with some more details on the new Esprit. Promising signs of development on the ‘New Era’ models…

The new Lotus V8 engine is set to power the Esprit, Elite and Eterne, and is on track to produce around 590bhp, and reaching in excess of 9000rpm.

Lotus Cars – Lotus Motorsport Sign PETRONAS

Lotus yesterday announced that PETRONAS have signed up to sponsor the Lotus Motorsport Evora cars competing in various levels of GT racing.

“PETRONAS will become the Official Lubricants Partner for Lotus Motorsport cars competing in various high profile international GT categories. As a result, The Evora GT4s competing in the British GT Championship, Blancpain European GT and the GTE entry in the ILMC (International Le Mans Cup) will carry prominent PETRONAS and Syntium branding. Syntium is the PETRONAS flagship motor oil brand oriented towards high performance cars and motorcycles.”

Lotus Cars – First F1 Points For Bruno Senna Round Off Successful Weekend For Group Lotus Motorsport

Lotus Cars have posted a round up of Lotus’s performance in last weekends F1, GP2 and GP3 at Monza, along with the Evora GTE in the 6-hour Silverstone Intercontinental Le Mans Championship race…

With Lotus-ART drivers Valtteri Bottas and James Calado both fighting for the championship, there was a frenzy of excitement in the team pit. Both raced hard but fair, taking a brilliant 1-2 victory on Saturday, led by Bottas – his fourth win of the season – which handed the Finn the title.

Lotus Cars – Fortune Favours the Brave

We almost didn’t feature this, we’ve all seen the Evora GTE already and there wasn’t much in the way of new information here.

Then they added the pictures up on the press site and I spotted the spoiler. Nice to see Lotus taking on-board the one major criticism of the previous show car.

Commenting on the Evora GTE road car, Group Lotus CEO Dany Bahar said: “The response to this model in China has been so incredible, within days we had sold out with 114 orders. In response we decided that the only logical step from a business perspective was to increase production and widen our reach.

“What is unique about this car, is not just that it’s a serious race car – it’s a serious car. People get so excited when they see and especially hear it for the first time. It’s a very special car and will appeal to a very special type of driver – and they won’t be disappointed!”

Lotus Cars – The Return of Lotus to Rally

We’ve seen Lotus come back to F1, Indycar and GT racing over the past couple years, and now their returning to another famous discipline – rallying – with the Exige R-GT car, aimed at the FIA GT category for tarmac rallies.

What better way to demonstrate Lotus’ superior ride and handling than by re-entering the adrenaline filled Rally Championships? Showcasing the new Exige S’ phenomenal performance, the Exige R-GT will participate in the newly formed FIA GT category of the FIA Rally Championship on asphalt in Monte Carlo, Tour de Corse and San Remo.

With the Exige getting a new engine, the Elise was feeling a little left out, so Lotus have given it one too, with the new Elise S – a replacement for the 2ZZ-GE powered Elise SC with a new 1.8l supercharged engine.
